PDA
in Mentoring
Have
you been mentored or helped by someone to make a significant transition
in your work, your thinking, your being?
And
do you mentor others? Perhaps you do so professionally, supporting
individuals facing challenges or developing new talent within your
organisation or inducting new apprentices or staff. Maybe you find
yourself mentoring a friend or relative, helping them make a major
transition in their lives.
If
you think giving and receiving such help is important to you, and
if you want to improve your practice so that you can better help those
you support, then this practical course is the one for you.
As
a former student said, “I find myself using techniques which I have
learnt, not only in the work environment but also almost daily outside
of work”
The
course will cover the following four units at SVQ Level III:
- Evaluating
and developing your own practice
- Supporting
individuals by mentoring
- Supporting
and advising individuals
- Monitoring
and reviewing progress
All
of these units can contribute towards individual trainees later seeking
to gain a SVQ in Learning and Development (at Levels III or IV)
Classes
will meet either weekly or fortnightly over 6 months. You will also
have individual sessions with the tutor once a month, either mentoring
sessions for you, or observations, and feedback, of you as a mentor
in practice.
