Who we are:

Cothrom Re-Store offer practical training opportunities in wood working and furniture restoration in a relaxed and friendly environment. We aim to divert as much waste from going to landfill as we can.

What we do:

  • Collect donations of unwanted furniture from your home or office
  • Display and sell items in our shop.
  • Restore, repair and refurbish furniture as required.
  • Give a new lease of life to furniture through our repair and return service.
  • Deliver purchased or renovated items to customers.
  • Take commissions for made to order items such as picnic benches and pet houses.
  • Textile collections from our banks located at:
    • Paible School
    • Isle of Benbecula House Hotel car park
    • Clachan Houses
    • Sollas Co-op
    • MacLennan's Supermarket

 

What we've done:

  • Prevented at least 15 tonnes of furniture, textiles, books, handbags and shoes going to landfill in 2010.
  • Increased our year on year income from furniture sales and repairs by 71% from 2009-2010.
  • Enrolled 25 new students over 2009-2011 with 100% improving their employability and 56% going onto further education, full-time or part-time employment or into a volunteering position.
