Adult Learning

Cothrom provides a full programme of short courses, evening classes and Scottish Vocational Qualifications. Training may last from six weeks to a year or longer, and all students benefit from high-quality training in small classes with a high staff to student ratio. Tutors are committed and supportive, able to spend time with individual students on confidence building as well as the skills training.

Under the Skillseekers scheme we also provide Get Ready For Work. This is a fairly new training programme aimed at 16-25 year olds. This programme offers a range of options to young people who require a short period of training before deciding on their chosen career path. Upon completion a young person should be in a better position to move into Skillseekers training, working towards a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ). Skillseekers receive a minimum national training allowance which has been set at £50 for full-time and £35 for part-time.
