The full funding package
of £1, 080, 834 is now in place for the new community
learning and development centre based in Ormiclate, South
Uist. The build process continues as per schedule
with a proposed site start of August 2006.
The new centre will
house training rooms, a practical skills workshop, administration
offices, meeting rooms and an all day nursery. This
will give students the opportunity to train in the same
building as their child or children. The building
will be designed to remove barriers to participation and
be accessible to all members of the community.
Funding
for the build came from ERDF, The Big Lottery, Futurebuilders,
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Western Isles Enterprise, The
Robertson Trust, Lloyds TSB, Learn Direct and the Community
Crofting Devlopment Scheme.
