The SVQ are made up of units of
competence. These list activities which need to be carried
out in the workplace. Units are gained over the course
of the placement, like building blocks, towards the
whole qualification. |

Candidates attend the
centre for a weekly two hour evening tutorial, in order
to gain the underpinning knowledge necessary for their
qualification. If a candidate is not already working
in an Early Years setting they will be placed in a setting,
for approximately seven hours per week, in order to
gain the necessary experience. They are also assessed
in the workplace and through a range of methods such
as assignments, case studies and reflective accounts.
The level 2 & 3 courses run from September through
to June. Level 4 is an eighteen month course which requires
a higher academic level. |
