I am known locally as Sineag and I was born and raised in Barra. My husband and I have always lived here but our four sons are now married and living on the mainland.

I work part-time in a small rural post office and have been involved for a number of years in various community projects/fundraising. I am a committee member of the Barra & Vatersay Housing Association, and at present very involved as a community representative on the Shadow Board of the Hebridean Housing Partnership. I am also a voluntary committee member of Cobhair Bharraidh, a local organisation set up for people with dementia with a support service for carers.

My other interests are traditional ceilidh dancing and singing, with both groups meeting during the winter months, and a priority for me is the church choir. I like gardening but most of all enjoy flower arranging which I am eager to do at any given opportunity.
