I am from Eriskay and was headteacher at Eriskay School from 1988 - 2001. I am currently working as an officer at Lionacleit Education Centre.  I had been asked on a number of occasions to join the Cothrom Board but I declined since it would have been difficult to attend meetings. However, the opening of the causeway meant that I could attend meetings as and when I wanted and I therefore agreed to join the Board in 2001. The causeway also ensured that people from Eriskay could have easy access for the first time to the courses available at Cothrom. I have been involved in education all my working life and I am happy to be associated with Cothrom in providing quality training and learning opportunities for the Uists and Barra.
