The children have been making Haggises at ReStore in preparation for Burns Night. They're made out of an old cushion and some tartan tweed.

Today we had a visit from Mrs Burgess. The children responded very well when she came in to sing with us, and got to take it in turns to choose their favourite song, and we also learnt some new Gaelic songs. Thank you Mrs Burgess.
The children in Cothrom Òg have been learning about winter and its effects. They’ve been experimenting with frozen paint, and objects hidden in ice. We experimented by freezing water mixed with paint and glitter. The result was we were able to paint beautiful ice pictures. We also put some objects inside balloons, filled them with water and froze them. The next day the children experimented with various ways on how to reveal the objects in the ice. We quickly discovered that the best way was with real tools!
Not only did we cover science in this activity but also developed our gross motor skills. |
