We have had a fun week celebrating Easter. We’ve decorated egg shapes, made cards, made delicious edible nests and even the Easter bunny came to visit!

We took advantage of the lovely weather on Friday afternoon, and the children in the 2-5 room enjoyed a picnic snack outdoors.
The children are learning turn-taking during this game of pairs, as well as being able to match the pictures.
Continuing with our Healthy Eating and Keeping Fit topic we made our own delicious pizzas. Bha iad math!
The children are becoming more aware or the importance of celebrations and customs in different people’s lives, today they have been learning about St Patrick’s Day. First of all they located Ireland on the map, and learned that the Shamrock is Ireland’s national flower. They then discovered that if they mixed yellow and blue paint they made green. The children also experimented with marbling to decorate individual shamrocks.
The babies are learning through their senses by exploring shaving foam. Click on any of the photos to enlarge.
The children planted Calendula and Marigold seeds in the polytunnel, and helped with the fertilising of the raised beds outside the nursery. We look forward to seeing our plants grow and learn about how to take care of them.
