The children enjoyed trying something different this Friday, by learning about stick weaving from Mary Carol. We also made postcards that will be sent to Malta as part of Mary Carol's art project!
As part of our 'People in the Community' topic in the 2-5 room, the children spent some time being 'Firemen/women'. As part of this activity we discussed the importance of fire safety and the importance of Firemen/women in the community.
In this activity the children were learning about chemical reactions. They made a 'volcano' using edible ingredients, although the verdict was not a tasty one.
Number recognition is part of the daily routine in the nursery. Some of the children in the 2-5 room took part in an activity where they were given a number between 1-10 and were to count out the correct number of blocks to match that number.
The children in the 2-5 room are currently learning about different people in the community. All children, and staff, had great fun exploring all the equipment the policeman/woman had to carry with them and on the van.

We would like to send a big Tapadh Leibh to one of our Grandparents Anne-Marie Johnson for donating buggies for the babies to play with. They have had a lot of fun with them, and have enjoyed taking their dollies out for walks.

Once a baby's vision begins to develop, they love to look at faces. Mirrors help babies learn self-awareness. Our baby is playing peek-a-boo with himself.
On our blog you can read about all the things we get up to in the nursery.
