As part of our 'People in the Community' topic in the 2-5 room, the children spent some time being 'Firemen/women'. As part of this activity we discussed the importance of fire safety and the importance of Firemen/women in the community.
In this activity the children were learning about chemical reactions. They made a 'volcano' using edible ingredients, although the verdict was not a tasty one.
Number recognition is part of the daily routine in the nursery. Some of the children in the 2-5 room took part in an activity where they were given a number between 1-10 and were to count out the correct number of blocks to match that number.
The children in the 2-5 room are currently learning about different people in the community. All children, and staff, had great fun exploring all the equipment the policeman/woman had to carry with them and on the van.
Ceud mìle taing airson a'tighinn gu Cothrom Òg agus a'bruidhinn ris a chlann. We would like to send a big Tapadh Leibh to one of our Grandparents Anne-Marie Johnson for donating buggies for the babies to play with. They have had a lot of fun with them, and have enjoyed taking their dollies out for walks.
Once a baby's vision begins to develop, they love to look at faces. Mirrors help babies learn self-awareness. Our baby is playing peek-a-boo with himself.
