This week in the 3-4 Room we have had lots of fun creating our mini beasts wall. We have done lots of colouring, painting, scissor skills and getting messy with glitter which they enjoyed. We painted our bug hotel which we are going to put outside next week, the children cant wait to see what insects come to visit.
The 0-2 room are also busy with another topic ‘pàirc-chluiche anns an t-samhradh’ (summer in the park) they are creating a play park theme and have also got their own ice cream shop, which they love to role play in. they have all taken part in making homemade ice cream this week and they have gone down a treat.
The 0-2 room are reading the book ‘Roban agus Robag agus am Muir Mòr Gorm’ they are engaging well to the story and are enjoying learning about under the see animals. Becca’s dad very kindly got us some real life crabs, sea urchins and star fish. The children were very excited to see them and the crabs seemed to be the favourite.
In conjunction with our spring topic the 3-5 group have been learning a little about Old MacDonald and his farm. The children have engaged well with this topic and have been taking part in various activities, which have included some ploughing and feeding of the many animals on their pretend farm.
The 3-5 group have started a new topic on mini beasts they have had lots of fun exploring outside to see what mini beasts they could find, they found lots of wiggly worms. They also made some ladybug flapjacks which all the children really enjoyed taking part in.
The 2-3 group have just finished their topic ‘Na Deich Spuinnich Bheaga’ the children have really enjoyed this topic as they have focused on numbers 1-10 and have learnt about some under the sea animals, they even got to see a real life octopus! They also made their very own pirate ship and enjoyed role playing as pirates.
The baby room have been working on a Gàidhlig song to help learn their features. They created a face for the wall, which they all helped to paint and colour. They also loved investigating and exploring Mr Potato Head to help learn where all their features go.
