On Thursday the children from the 3-5 room went on a visit to Drimsdale machair where they got to explore the machair, watch the machinery in action, and learn about the processes a crofter goes through when cutting, bailing and wrapping the crops. The children were counting bales, investigating the corn heads, how heavy the bales were by trying to make them roll over, they also loved having a picnic in the sunshine.
Many thanks go to Duncan John MacEachan and his team who ensured the children had a great trip.

To begin the new term our focus is on "mi fhèin", some of the children took part in the mind map activity where they discussed what they already know about themselves. The children have also drawn some fantastic self-portraits by using mirrors and were very engrossed when investigating their different features.
This week we have been learning some clothing words in Gaelic. We were working on our fine motor skills and some very important skills for being independent when we were learning how to do buttons, buckles and zips. We also played a matching game with socks.
The 0-2 room have started reading the old lady who swallowed a fly. Here they are using different media to create the old lady.
