Our first community event since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic took place on Sunday 22nd August , and this was the first of many parental engagement sessions led by our new Nursery Manager, Katy MacDonald.
It was a beautiful sunny day and the parents enjoyed an opportunity to have tea and a chat and the children had a great time on the massive bouncy slide. It was nice to see some of our after-school children joining in on the fun too! There was an opportunity for parents and carers to find out about the changes to the way we will be delivering healthy snacks lunch and drinks in Cothrom Òg, and to ask for their feedback on the changes. Children and parents participated in some active learning games about healthy options, creating a balanced plate of food, and finding out some Gaelic vocabulary relating to food. Morag MacKinnon very kindly joined us and had a wide array of resources and activities learning about good dental hygiene and healthy food choices to support healthy mouths. Alison Stockwell our Community Development tutor did a family-led learning activity and took the opportunity to talk about family learning sessions as well.
