The 0-2 group summer wall is coming along nicely. We've been making flowers, colouring in the ice-cream van, and the children have been making representations of themselves for their play park wall display.

The 0-2 room are also busy with another topic ‘pàirc-chluiche anns an t-samhradh’ (summer in the park) they are creating a play park theme and have also got their own ice cream shop, which they love to role play in. they have all taken part in making homemade ice cream this week and they have gone down a treat.
The 0-2 room are reading the book ‘Roban agus Robag agus am Muir Mòr Gorm’ they are engaging well to the story and are enjoying learning about under the see animals. Becca’s dad very kindly got us some real life crabs, sea urchins and star fish. The children were very excited to see them and the crabs seemed to be the favourite.
The baby room have been working on a Gàidhlig song to help learn their features. They created a face for the wall, which they all helped to paint and colour. They also loved investigating and exploring Mr Potato Head to help learn where all their features go.
The boys are outside, enjoying some time to investigate the amount of water that has gathered in the tyres. One found a star fish in the sand area and took it up to put it in the water, telling us "it needs water to survive". Also ‘double trouble’ gathering water for their mud pies! Our poor mud kitchen took a bit of a battering in the recent gales, but this doesn’t stop us having some messy outdoor fun! The children in the baby room have been making foot print penguin and hand print robins for their winter topic.
They also celebrated Robert Burns and got to try haggis, neeps, and tatties - as well as a little bit of Irn Bru! Kenny very kindly came in and played the pipes for us too. The Daliburgh Thrift Shop very kindly donated a play kitchen for the children in the baby room. The children have enjoyed role playing making tea and lunch, and even doing the dishes!
December has been a very busy month. The children in the baby room have been making snowflakes, stockings, snowmen, stars, and reindeer for our Christmas display.
They also made reindeer dust and very cute Christmas cards for their mams and dads. They all had loads of fun at our Christmas party dancing all day long, enjoyed some party food and goodies, and they all looked their best in their lovely outfits. |
