What better way to learn about geamhradh than to get fully immersed in the great outdoors, exploring and promoting gross motor skills. As we are learning about winter, we have made an "ice rink" outside out of some plastic and washing up liquid.

The children were making the most of the lovely calm day and chose to have snack outside. They spent their afternoon transporting the bark from one area to another an made up their own game of 'Crocodile Tig'.
The children were given a thorough work out in the sunshine this morning during their game of gross motor bingo. They certainly worked up an appetite for lunch.
We would once more like to extend a big TAPADH LEIBH to PeggyAnn MacMillan, Margaret Campbell, Morag MacKinnon, and Mary Flora MacKinnon for raising money during their half marathon in Inverness in March. We have now purchased our outdoor suits with the money raised. The children in Cothrom Òg have already made good use of them, remaining dry and warm during yesterday's wintry conditions.
The children in the 2-5 room enjoyed a trip down to the machair to see the baling. Thank you to the crofters on the Ormiclate and Bornish machair for letting the children see the process from cutting through to wrapping. They enjoyed it so much they wanted to go back for a third day! We also went down on Wednesday, when the weather was less agreeable! The children still had a great time.
We spent most of the day at the walled garden at St Peter's - helping with gardening and playing in the sunshine. You can click on any of the photos to enlarge them. We also decorated one of the flower beds with the shells we've been painting in ReStore:
We had a great adventure out in Loch Eynort today. We did a lot of walking and investigating of the local area, and found lots of different plants and trees, and even a cave!
