We started off the term by learning a little about Autumn. The children were excited to investigate the changes that take place over the season even the rain didn’t stop them! The children took part in various arts and craft sessions between the nursey and ReStore, with Maria.
The children in the baby room have been learning a little about autumn. They investigated different textured leaves and they also made leaf biscuits and hedgehog cakes.
Baking is a great activity to develop early numeracy skills.
Part of our Autumn topic was learning about harvest time. We were very fortunate to have been asked back to watch the process of baling. The children were eager to ask questions and learn about what they were seeing. When we returned to nursery, the children recreated the scene they had witnessed on the machair and even used hay that they had picked up along the way to make it look more realistic! Thank you to Duncan John and his team for explaining the process and for entertaining the children so well - a good day was had by all.
On our blog you can read about all the things we get up to in the nursery.
