In the 3-5 room the children are learning about People Who Help Us and Keeping Safe. They thoroughly enjoyed a visit from one of the South Uist ambulance teams. They had the opportunity to watch the lights going on and off inside and outside the ambulance, and to listen to a call coming through and the siren going off. They had a great hands on experience trying out some of the equipment and hearing about some of the things ambulance staff do.

As part of our 'People in the Community' topic in the 2-5 room, the children spent some time being 'Firemen/women'. As part of this activity we discussed the importance of fire safety and the importance of Firemen/women in the community.
The children in the 2-5 room are currently learning about different people in the community. All children, and staff, had great fun exploring all the equipment the policeman/woman had to carry with them and on the van.
Ceud mìle taing airson a'tighinn gu Cothrom Òg agus a'bruidhinn ris a chlann. What a perfect start to our 'People in the community' topic when the children got to observe the workers installing the new EV charging point outside Cothrom.
