The 3-5 group have started a new topic on mini beasts they have had lots of fun exploring outside to see what mini beasts they could find, they found lots of wiggly worms. They also made some ladybug flapjacks which all the children really enjoyed taking part in.

The boys are outside, enjoying some time to investigate the amount of water that has gathered in the tyres. One found a star fish in the sand area and took it up to put it in the water, telling us "it needs water to survive". Also ‘double trouble’ gathering water for their mud pies! Our poor mud kitchen took a bit of a battering in the recent gales, but this doesn’t stop us having some messy outdoor fun! Since we we are learning about spring the children made butterfly biscuits and decorated them with smarties. There was a lot of numeracy involved in weighing out and measuring the ingredients.
Some of the children in the 2-5 room went on a topic-related trip to see some animals and their young. We had a lot of fun, and learnt a lot about animals.
An drasta tha sinn ag ionnsachadh beagan mu dheidhinn an t-Earrach agus beatha ùr. We are learning about spring and the new life that comes with it. We explored the nursery garden to see if we could spot any signs of spring, and we found some daffodils. We then made our own daffodils in the nursery.
