MENTORPRISE
Mentorprise is a Business Mentoring Programme for residents of Uist and Barra, that is designed to support young entrepreneurs, those seeking to start up their own business, and individuals in challenging roles. Mentorprise brings together a network of trusted mentors with the key skills, knowledge, and experience to guide and support individuals through start up, growth, and expansion of their business.
Cothrom’s Mentorprise purpose aligns with The Prince’s Countryside Fund’s objectives in seeking to provide business support and guidance. One of Mentorprise’s aims is to help realise innovation to keep our rural island communities together and develop a more sustainable rural economy.
Cothrom realises that rural communities face a range of challenges and hopes that Mentorprise will attract individuals to stay, return, or settle on Uist and Barra by helping to develop and sustain job opportunities for the future.
The programme involves local business and third sector workers who generously give up their time and expertise to provide 1-to-1 assistance to those on the programme and to provide peer-to-peer support, business mentoring, and business start-up advice.
