Social services and healthcare
Social Services and Healthcare is the qualification which sets out performance and knowledge standards for people who wish to work in Care and allow them to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Level 2 Social Services and Healthcare
The course requires candidates to be working in a supported role, they should not be working unsupervised.
Level 3 Social Services and Healthcare
The course requires candidates to be working with minimal supervision and having a high degree of independence for the planning and promotion of the care service.
Candidates may attend the centre for tutorials, in order to gain the underpinning knowledge necessary for their qualification. The candidate requires to be working in a Care setting for at least sixteen hours per week, in order to gain the necessary experience. They are assessed in the workplace and through a range of methods such as observations, professional discussions, and reflective accounts. All evidence is collated in a portfolio and cross-referenced to the SVQ units and relevant performance criteria.
