Here at Cothrom we offer an informal, relaxed and friendly approach to training. We deliver recognised certificated courses as well as customised packages to suit your individual or business needs. Our Learning Centre is situated in the middle of South Uist and we are also flexible enough to deliver training off site, managing courses at a time and pace that will allow you to achieve the learning outcomes that you desire.

Here at Cothrom we believe that it is never too late to learn and adults of all ages are welcome, which is why we offer free local tuition to improve your literacy, numeracy, or IT skills.

Our trained Digital Champions can help you with skills such as setting up and using emails, social media, tablets and iPads, laptops, and phones. We can also provide accessible support for digital tasks such as online banking and job searching. Employability FundThis programme aims to provide every eligible participant with an individual programme of guidance and support that will enable and encourage progression to sustained employment, employment with training (including Modern Apprenticeship), or further education.
English For Speakers of other LanguagesGaining an ESOL qualification demonstrates that you have good speaking, writing, listening and reading skills in English as a second or foreign language. Not only will it help improve your social interactions and everyday life – it’s also a great way to show employers your language skills and add to your CV.

PC Passport is a course that provides knowledge and skills in using contemporary application packages such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software in a collaborative, cloud-based environment. It seeks to deliver up-to-date skills in using a range of popular software, such as Office 365, to prepare learners for employment or further studies or to improve their productivity skills.
Practical training at ReStoreCothrom ReStore offer practical training opportunities in wood working, furniture restoration, textiles and upcycling in a relaxed and friendly environment.
